Throw them away you say? Mama would take us to task for wasting good food. So what do you do with them? Ripe or over ripe bananas make the best banana bread in the islands. For those who have chosen the vegan and vegetarian lifestyle you don\u2019t have to be deprived of this truly scrumptious experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Ingredients:           \r\n            <div class=\"onp-locker-call\" style=\"display: none;\" data-lock-id=\"onpLock554333\">\r\n                <p><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 cup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ready-to-eat bran cereal<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 cup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Over ripe bananas (2-3)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 \u00bd cup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applesauce (replacing shortening)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00bd cup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vegan Sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00bc cup+ 2 tbsp Boiling water<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 \u00bd cups\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flour, sifted<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 tsp\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Baking Soda<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00bd tsp\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Salt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00bd cup\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Raisins. nuts or dates(optional)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Add bran cereal, banana, applesauce, vegan sugar in a large bowl. Add water and stir. In a separate bowl sift four, baking soda and salt or use a fork and mix until blended. Combine with banana mixture and stir until blended.
